MUSIC BASED THERAPY
Kids are hungry for new positive experiences, motivation and
creative connections. Learning to play a musical instrument can be therapeutic in and of itself. At a client's request, I utilize the power of music in individual therapy.
As a clinical tool in individual sessions, music based therapy helps kids to improve creativity, enhance cognitive functions and decrease feelings of anxiety and depression. Music has also been found to build self esteem, cohesion and social connections with others.
Physiologically, music boosts endorphins, dopamine, and serotonin levels, which are natures natural feel good antidepressants, enhancing mood and a sense of wellness.
